Syrah 2020 - Artisanal - Esk Valley - Hawkes Bay - New Zealand

 Complex and intriguing with a bouquet that suggests place and time. Aromas of red currant and dark red apple skin, plum and raspberry with moments of licorice and spice then lees complexities with judicious barrel selection suggesting less oak than previous expressions. Delicious on the palate with complexity and charm, a core of red berries and lees spices then moments of sweet oak and five spice. An abundance of fine tannins and back bone of acidity that harmonise with the core fruit flavours seamlessly followed by a sense of stone and mineral. A fantastic wine, wonderful craftsmanship with a lengthy finish.
