Over 26 generations the Antinori family has built up a reputation for producing some of the world’s finest wines. The current owner is Marchese Piero Antinori, who is famous for starting the Super Tuscan movement in the 1970s and spearheading a quality revolution in wine. And he has done the same in Umbria. His father purchased Castello della Sala in 1940, when the family turned their attention to white wine making. The first vintage of the great Cervaro was in 1985, with Bramito launched in 1994. The grapes are from younger Chardonnay vines on the estate, the juice part barrel fermented with malolactic to lend a luscious creamy texture and flavour to the wine. Made by one of Italy’s finest winemakers, Renzo Cotarella, this is a fine white.

White lychees, good acidity, subtle oak. Excellent.
