The Chateau La Tour de By is a 94-hectare family wine estate present on a ridge in Girondines, between the Gironde estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. The winery has a long history in Medoc that goes back to almost the 16th century and is one of the oldest properties of the region.
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot aged in oak for 12 to 15 months.
"Deep crimson. Plenty of dark, savoury fruit and thick chewy tannins. Really quite challenging now but there’s richness and depth of fruit to give the tannins time to soften." (JH) Julia Harding MW 15.5/20 jancisrobinson.com
