Bacchus|Reichensteiner|Pinot Noir - Fifth Season - Castlewood - Devon - England

Fifth Season is a project between Castlewood's Rob Corbett and Ben Henshaw of Indigo Wine. An encapsulation of ripe, sun-kissed fruit for the 2022 vintage and gentle élevage in amphorae and oak barrel. 

The 2022 vintage noted a warm, dry spring, following later. y a gorgeous Indian summer. after the optimum hang time, harvest was on the 4th of October resulting in intense aromatic fruit. The grapes were macerated for 1-days in amphorae and fermented by indigenous yeast before pressing, then returned to clay for a further 12 months, or a 'fifth season'. The wine then rested in neutral French oak barrels for 3 months prior to bottling.
