Marcello and Massimiliano Apollonio are the fourth generation of the Apollonio family to carry on the family business, which dates back to the 19th century. The wines of Apulia have never received as much interest as they do now.

Great care is taken in the production and vinification of local grape varieties Negroamaro and Malvasia to produce wines of uniquely southern Italian character. Hand harvested grapes are gently pressed then fermented on the skins for over a month.  Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel and the wines are aged for long periods in old oak barrels.  Full, rich and velvety with complex baked fruits and soft, leathery notes.  A delicious long finish.  Particularly suited to roast meats and red meat dishes.

A robust wine with a velvety, harmonious balance and a persistent fruity finish. Deep ruby red in colour with intense, elegant fragrances of blackberries and plums. On the palate it is pleasant, well-structured but with a good vinous and ethereal acid balance. Firm yet soft tannins.
