The Galician DO Valdeorras (meaning Valley of Gold) is an ancient wine producing area where the Romans mined the land for gold and before planting vines on the land. Here, on the steep slopes of the left bank of the river Sil, Celestino and Maria Teresa manage four hectares of vines to make their Bioca wines.

Their red wine is comprised of 85% Mencia with the addition of Garnacha and Tempranillo.

A violet wine with floral and wild fruit notes typical of Mencia. On the palate juicy bramble is laced with herbs and spices  Structured, fair and persistent, much like the Valdeorras scrub landscape.

Perfect with pork or light game dishes.
