A cool, flinty, unoaked, northern Italian white made from the local Turbiana grape. This is also know as Trebbiano di Lugana and thought to be genetically linked to Verdicchio which makes some of Italy's finest and longest-lived whites. It’s similar in style to Pinot Blanc, but with a touch more acidity and minerality. An Italian Chablis, dare I say? Enjoy its notes of galia melon, broom and wet stone with freshwater fish, such as trout or perch. 13.5% alc. Drink now-2027.

Press review:

Decanter: “The Montonale estate lies on the western edge of the DOC zone, where the soils and mesoclimate of the first line of morainic hills give wines which add notes of white fruit to the typical minerally profile of Lugana. Owner-winemaker Roberto Girelli uses indigenous yeasts for all his wines and ages this excellent Montunal selection exclusively in vats. The nose has subtle herbs and the beautifully balanced palate is compact and intense, with a keynote flinty finish. Drinking Window 2022 - 2028.” 96 points
