Chardonnay - Kumeu Village - New Zealand
White Wine
Kumeu River
Citrus lime and lemon fruit on the nose mixed with figs and white peaches. It is weighty on the palate with mineral acidity and a clean fresh finish with the meerest hint of oak. Kumeu River Wines was established in 1944 when Mick and Katé Brajkovich and their son Maté first came to the small country settlement of Kumeu, about 20 km north-west of Auckland City. The 1980s brought great changes and a move to high quality table wines from varieties such as Chardonnay.
James Suckling 91 points.
