Fine Cyder - Ida Red - The Newt
Hand-picked local Somerset apples are pressed and slowly cold-fermented to create a complex and natural flavour profile. This Fine Cyder is a dry wine-like cider, with balanced acidity, sourness and a touch of sweetness to create a lovely, thirst-quenching drink.
The Newt Fine Cyder 2018 is gluten free and vegetarian and vegan friendly.

Around the time that Hadspen House was built, the finest quality cyders were preferred to champagne by sniffy Somerset gentry who knew their tipple. Our cyders are made with 100% apple juice, using a state-of-the-art Cyder Press and Cyder Cellar, and advanced cold-press processes.
The Greeks and Romans mastered the art of cyder making, but so did we (when the pompous Julius Caesar invaded our shores around 55 BC, he found the drink already established here). People in our apple-growing regions consumed over a pint a day; at the time, this mildly alcoholic drink was safer than water. Everyone, including children, drank it – even at breakfast!
