The\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eoriginal winery, whose cellars date back to 1737, was founded by\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ethe Konchosvilli family who had a close relationship with the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003echurch (`koncho` means cross). Winemakers Nugzar Ksovreli and\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThierry Fontannaz honour this history on Bedoba’s label, with the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eicon of Saint Nina, whose apostolic work has contributed to the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003espread of Christianity in Georgia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eVINEYARDS\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThis wine is made from grapes sourced from vineyards located in\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ethe classic and traditional microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli,\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ein the Kakheti region. Bedoba White blend is made from 70%\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eRkatsiteli and 30% Kisi, which are Georgian grape varieties with\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eunique characteristics. The Rkatsiteli comes from 25-year-old vines\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003erooted in the region’s characteristic black slate soil, which reaches\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ea depth of eight meters. This lends the grapes a very strong\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003epersonality and concentration and distinctive minerality to the\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ewine. The Kisi grapes come from younger vineyards, planted closer\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eto the hill in a cooler microclimate on limestone soil.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eVINTAGE\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThe 2025 growing season was characterised by ideal ripening\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003econditions, with unusually cool nights helping to preserve freshness\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eand aromatic intensity. Harvest took place from mid-September to\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ethe end of October. The grapes remained in excellent sanitary\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003econdition throughout the season, resulting in fruit of exceptional\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003equality.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eVINIFICATION\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eThe Rkatsiteli and Kisi grapes were hand harvested, fully\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003edestemmed and vinified separately on arrival at the winery. The\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eRkatsiteli was pressed, settled and fermented in Qvevri without skin\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003econtact, while the Kisi underwent a 24-hour cold soak on skins\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ebefore being pressed and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eFollowing alcoholic fermentation, around 20% of the Rkatsiteli was\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003etransferred to 500-litre French oak barrels for malolactic\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003efermentation, with the remainder completing malolactic\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003efermentation in Qvevri. The Kisi did not undergo malolactic\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003efermentation. The final blend was aged on its fine lees for six\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003emonths in second- and third-fill French oak barrels before bottling\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ein April 2026.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eTASTING NOTES\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eBedoba White opens with aromas of ripe pear, baked apple,\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003ehoneycomb and toasted almonds, complemented by subtle wild\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003eherb notes.
